An original, 75-minute, one woman musical about the life and songs of the 1920's Empress of the Blues, Bessie Smith. Highlighting Bessie's life journey and enormously successful singing career in the 1920's and 1930's, Ruby Hayes brings back songs that Bessie made famous, including "Gimme A Pigfoot and a Bottle of Beer," "Tain't Nobody's Bizness If I do," "A Good Man is Hard to Find," "Kitchen Man," "Do Your Duty" and more!
