About This Show

Written by Daniel Goldfarb, Modern Orthodox tells the story of a young couple whose lives are interrupted when a Hasidic diamond dealer from Brooklyn arrives on their doorstep with suitcase in hand, announcing that he needs a place to live. The ill-mannered houseguest is the dealer from whom a very special diamond engagement ring was to be purchased.

“The collision between an upwardly mobile secular couple and an angst-ridden Orthodox Jew has hilarious moments […] belly laughs, plenty of them […] thanks to playwright Daniel Goldfarb’s ability to craft genuinely funny one-liners.”
— Frank Scheck, The New York Post

Modern Orthodox plays in repertory with The Mystery Plays.
