About the Show

An array of West End performers join together for Christmas in New York, a seasonally inspired show celebrating contemporary composers.

Musical theatre favourite Josie Walker makes a long overdue return to the West End alongside series regulars Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer. They are joined by Cassidy Janson, James Gillan and Oliver Tompsett from the UK première of Wicked, Jon Robyns and Clare Foster from Avenue Q, Sophia Ragavelas, who is currently playing Fantine in Les Misérables, and Melanie La Barrie, who originated the role of Mrs. Corry in the première of Mary Poppins and is now performing in the new musical Daddy Cool.

Featuring a selection of seasonal songs by acclaimed American composers including Alan Menken, Andrew Lippa, Craig Carnelia, David Friedman, Frank Wildhorn and Jason Robert Brown, Christmas in New York also includes the world première of a specially commissioned song by British composer Grant Olding, whose work was previously profiled in Not(es) from New York earlier this year. Charles Miller’s song “Christmas in New York” provides the title for the show and some familiar tunes are interspersed along the way.

Evoking a magical time of year in a much loved city, Christmas in New York is the perfect treat for all musical theatre lovers and everyone that wants to celebrate Christmas in style. The production is directed by David Randall, with associate direction by Paul Spicer.
