Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof portrays a wealthy Southern family stricken by calamity and avarice. Firebrand patriarch Big Daddy is celebrating his 65th birthday, unaware that his family is withholding the news that his recent spate of cancer tests has proved his case terminal. To further complicate things, Big Daddy’s alcoholic son Brick is faced with a crumbling marriage, while his other son Gooper and his wife try to ingratiate themselves into the dying man’s will.
