About This Show

Fans of The Wizard of Oz (and isn’t that everyone?) get to meet Dorothy again — this time all grown up and on another exciting adventure — as South Coast Repertory’s Summer Players present Time Again in Oz. Adapted by Susan L. Zeder with music by Richard Gray, the show is a lively musical version of a story by L. Frank Baum, creator of all the beloved Oz books.

Dorothy and her aging Uncle Henry survive a shipwreck only to find themselves on a time-bending adventure in Oz, where they encounter a tycoon who gives big business a bad name, an old soul in the body of a very young child, and an entire army on roller skates — and that’s just for starters. But when “Tick-Toc” turns time back in Oz, Dorothy becomes a little girl again, and Uncle Henry walks away from his wheelchair. The two must ponder whether to stay in the Emerald City and remain the same age forever, or return to Kansas, face the joys of each new day and never fear the march of time.

Directed by Hisa Takakuwa, sets by Angela Calin, costumes by Tiffany Reagan, lighting by Jeff Brewer, stage manager Emily Krech.
