Champagne corks will pop on Saturday, Dec. 31, when New Philharmonic and Music Director and Conductor Kirk Muspratt provide a special way to ring in the new with two performances of Viennese Pops New Year’s Eve with an International Twist. The program will include a selection of beloved works by Johann Strauss, Jr. including the “Blue Danube Waltz,” “Thunder and Lightning Polka,” “The Egyptian March” and the “Overture to Die Fledermaus.”
The concerts will feature guest baritone Mischa Bouvier, winner of the 2010 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, who has been hailed by the New York Times for his “rich timbre” and “fine sense of line.”
