Freshwater Theater Company’s current production, Theater of the Damned… and Other Horrors, is a collection of films, plays and music submitted by local Chicago artists. Just in time for the Halloween season, it features a complete exploration of the horror genre, including “classical” horror moments, comic send-up of the genre as a whole, and even an absurdist’s vision of hell through the eyes of a new arrival. Featuring a series of scenes and monologues, special effects, original films as well as existing horror films and a completely original score by Chicago composer Andrew Scott Foust, Theater of the Damned is a totally fresh experiment in horror. Part film, part play, and part haunted house, it will expand your ideas of what is possible on the stage.
