Set in the magical kingdom of Monterontondo, statues come to life, snakes give advice, and a magic green bird brings a family together after 23 years. At the center of the story is a pair of young philosophizing twins who set off on an adventure of self-discovery after their identities are called into question. Along the way, they are transformed through their encounters with a collection of mythical creatures and eccentric archetypes. Strawdog Theatre kicks off its 15th Year with this production of The Green Bird by Carlo Gozzi in a translation by Steven Epp. Nic Dimond directs.
Special Benefit performance on Saturday, April 13, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $30.
