“Amirah Johnson, played by Mariah Scott, is a 26-year-old woman who seems to have it all together. But as experiences from her past relationships resurface, she starts to question if her perfect life is just for show. The Crown She Wears is a love story like you’ve never seen before; one of laughter and reflection. A love story that has Amirah torn between choices: will she continue to support others at the expense of herself or will she finally choose her?”

Mariah Scott is a Life Cultivator, Storyteller and native of Milwaukee, WI. She received her BA from DePaul University in Communications and her MA in Arts Administration from Syracuse University. As a writer, Ms. Scott understands that she is a steward over her body of work and she can inspire others to think through new lenses simply be reframing her story.

She often contextualizes her work through a lens that depicts images of Black Joy and abundance. Her work landed her opportunities to perform on major platforms such as: Syracuse University annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, Black Women's Expo and the half-time show performer for the NBA G-League MLK Celebration.
