Sweeney Todd

Porchlight Music Theatre launches its Tenth Anniversary Season with a mouth-watering production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd. The production is directed by Porchlight Music Theatre Artistic Director L. Walter Stearns, with musical direction by Eugene Dizon.

A barber known for his “ultra close” shaves and “killer” haircuts, Sweeney Todd brings all the clever lyrics and stirring music that are the hallmarks of a Sondheim production. In this darkly comic tale, the title character and his cunning accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, provide very special “treatment” for the clients who patronize Todd’s barber shop and Lovett’s pie shop. The show includes classic songs such as, “Not While I’m Around,” “Pretty Women,” and the hilarious “A Little Priest.”
