Sterling North’s Rascal is a classic and award winning story, adapted as a theatre-hike, offering a memorable portrait of a friendship between a boy and a raccoon in 1918 and its effect on his family and town in nearby Edgerton, Wisconsin. During a theatre-hike the audience walks to different outdoor locations for each scene of the play. Theatre-Hikes can involve a two-mile walk during performances. Audience members sit either on the ground or in chairs they have brought or stand and lean against trees. All theatre-hiking performances are performed rain or shine, since most locations have indoor facilities in case of heavy rain. For all performances, audience-hikers should dress appropriately according to the weather, and are welcome to bring water to drink, snacks to eat, and a blanket, chair or stool to sit on.
Rascal also appears at The Morton Arboretum from September 2 to September 24.
