New York City
More than a country singer, Hank Williams was an essential American voice. Ease and authenticity mark this ensemble’s homage to Williams’ brief but prolific recording career. Singer/songwriter Ethan Kinsella cultivated his sound touring with Americana, Country, and Bluegrass bands. The skilled musicians surrounding him were featured in popular Chicago productions of Hank Williams: Lost Highway, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, and the long-running hit Million Dollar Quartet. Drawing from “The Hillbilly Shakespeare’s” deep well of favorites, featured songs include “Hey Good Lookin,” “Your Cheating Heart,” “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” and many more.
