About This Show

Written by Pulitzer Prize winner Ketti Frings, Look Homeward Angel is directed by John Mossman, co-founder and Associate Artistic Director of The Artistic Home. Mossman most recently directed the critically acclaimed Juno and the Paycock for the Artistic Home, which earned four After Dark Awards and three Jeff Nominations. Adapted from Thomas Wolfe’s controversial chronicle of his Asheville youth, Look Homeward Angel marks the tumultuous coming-of-age of Eugene Gant. Growing up in a home full of eccentric travelers, Eugene struggles to discover the world that lies beyond his mother’s boarding house and the grasp of his turbulent family. A brawling, epic search for connection to each other, one’s self and the land beyond. The production features Artistic Director, Kathy Scambiatterra and stage veteran, Frank Nall. The large cast also includes Artistic Home Ensemble Members Eustace Allen, Jill Schroer, Maria Stephens, Kate Tummelson, Matt Welton and Miranda Zola; along with Michael Denini, Jeremy Glickstein, Tim Goldich, Veronica Lynn, Joan McGrath, JP Pierson, Katherine Swan, Sam Undine and Philip Wasik; with Nick Horst in the leading role as Eugene Gant. Artistic Associate Greg Guyles will design the set, with lighting design by Claude Heinz, costumes by Irene Servose, properties by Lindsay Monahan, and sound design by Artistic Associate James Murray. It is produced by Ensemble Members Tim Miller and Joe McCauley, with Kaiser Ahmed serving as Assistant Director.
