Presented in a single marathon event, Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 counterpoint the pivotal period of civil strife during Henry IV’s reign against the coming-of age antics of his son-the young Prince Hal and his unruly sidekick, Sir John Falstaff. Everyone’s favorite Falstaff, Greg Vinkler, reprises his role as Shakespeare’s rotund rogue. CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines directs.
Following the Chicago run, the production tours to Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon, England at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), July 6-15, 2006.
