About This Show

In November 2002, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks sat down and committed to writing a play a day for the next 365 days. The world premiere of this play cycle, 365 Days / 365 Plays, is being performed as a yearlong national festival featuring simultaneous performances around the country. Participation from over 600 theaters in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Washington D.C., Chicago, Minneapolis, the Carolinas, Mississippi River towns, and university campuses helps make 365 the largest theater collaboration in U.S. History.

Each regional or city-wide network is organized in a unique fashion around a single hub theater, or a group of hub theaters. In Chicago, a group of seven hub theaters – Congo Square, Goodman, the Hypocrites, Next Theatre Company, Steppenwolf, Uma Productions, and Writers’ Theatre – serve to organize the area’s contribution to this national festival.
