The Center brings Broadway to the Chicago Southland as it offers two heartwarming performances of the Tony Award-winning national Broadway touring production of Annie.
Everyone’s favorite orphan teaches the lesson of never giving up, to the tune of memorable songs including “It’s a Hard-Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” and the ever optimistic “Tomorrow.” Join a larger-than-life cast that includes Annie’s faithful dog Sandy, her arch nemesis Miss Hannigan, and her zillionaire benefactor Daddy Warbucks for a heartwarming experience.
The Chicago Tribune proclaims Annie “one of the best family musicals ever penned,” and The New York Times raves “Annie is an elating piece of family theater.” Variety calls the show “a winner!”
The national Broadway touring production of Annie is directed by Martin Charnin, whose previous credits include director, lyricist, composer, librettist and producer for more than 95 theatrical productions including Annie Warbucks, Hot Spot, The Flowering Peach and I Remember Mama. Lyrics are also by Charnin. Book is by Thomas Meehan, and music is by Charles Strouse.
