About This Show

Last year during the pandemic, the arts were forced to adjust and create content that could be performed and shared remotely. This paved the way for an opportunity, and Johnnycake created the Upper School Student Playwriting Festival. Our very own St. John’s students submitted scripts telling stories that they wanted to hear.

We are extremely excited to announce the Second Annual Student Playwriting Festival! This year’s festival theme is “To Tell the Truth?” There was an overwhelming response and nine plays have been selected to be produced in the Black Box Theatre.
Will you join us to find the answer to who killed Aunt Sarah? Will the lights come on again? Is Siri actually controlling our relationships? The truth will be revealed…or will it?!
The Student Playwriting Festival features plays by Ananya Agrawal, Eden Anne Bauer, Josie Feldman, Lindsay Frankfort, Isabella Gidi, Molly Hennessy, Grace Rustay, and Maggie Whelan. Performances by Ananya Agrawal, Skylar Gross, Bobby Hvalinka, Sophia Jazaeri, Eve Kroencke, Rahul Lal, Jack Lovett, Penelope Macpherson, Owen Paschke, Ryan Paschke, Grace Rustay and Keval Shah.
