Big Beat Big Band

Since its genesis in 2014, Big Beat Big Band has been driven
by the continuous pursuit of creating music that sounds good and feels good.
What else would you expect from a group of jazz geeks? By bringing modern
influences from the worlds of funk, jazz, and R&B to the big band format,
the ensemble deftly blends the old and cherished with the new and exciting.

The resulting music blends big band sounds
reminiscent of Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra with other notable influences,
like Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Thundercat, and Jill Scott. Tying it all
together are the husband-wife duo of Allison and Caleb Rumley. Allison’s
profound and versatile vocals and superb songwriting deliver the perfect
complement to Caleb’s command of the robust instrument section and his mastery
of the big band format.
