The Mistress of Hogwarts is set in a time of J.K. Rowling’s life when she had little idea that her novels would become an international phenomenon. Working pick up shifts in a coffee shop and caring for her daughter, the future creator of Harry Potter was facing many of the same challenges single women face around the world. What characterized J.K. Rowling was her fearless and determined drive to become a writer and her avowed intention to use her literary gifts to reveal a very special magic, a magic, she suggests, that dwells in each of us.
