About This Show

Stephen Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comes to Onstage Atlanta in a staged concert setting. Following on the heels of Jekyll and Hyde: In Concert, this presentation of Sunday in the Park with George: In Concert is a musical about George Seurrat that tells the fictional story of his painting masterpiece “Sunday On The Isle of La Grande Jatte”. Act One gives us the artist’s view of who the personalities are in his painting. Act Two takes place in the present with Seurrat’s presumed great grandson, George, and gives a look into the painting’s past until both past and present become one moment in time for both Georges past and present.
