A Christmas Story

Melbourne Civic Theatre invites you to spend this holiday season with us, as we celebrate a beloved Christmas tradition! Back by popular demand, this December, we are once again presenting Jean Shepherd’s A Christmas Story adapted by Philip Grecian and based on the motion picture.

This is the story we’ve all grown to love in the past twenty-five plus years on television each holiday season. Despite the fact that everybody from his Mother to Santa warns him he’ll shoot his eye out–little Ralphie Parker is on the quest for the Official Legendary Red Ryder BB Gun, his friend Flick learns the hard way not to stick your tongue to a frozen pole, and his father wins a leg-shaped lamp in a mail away trivia contest. These are just a few of the memories that adult Ralph recounts to the audience.
