In Cheapter by the Dozen a father of twelve decides to apply his techniques of industrial efficiency to running his household; the results are not everything he hoped for. Charts, bathing demonstrations, and fines for electricity waste are hardly a treat for the kids. They are surprisingly effective, but highly embarrassing – especially for his high school daughter. The resulting struggle between what works and what keeps the peace brings to the stage touching family drama and hilarious comedy.
