About the Show

The Stamford Center for the Arts presents the Black History Gala 2005, featuring a special stage presentation, Soul Motion Stepping Through Time hosted by Maurice Hines, a star of stage, screen and television, and featuring Mercedes Ellington, a renowned director, choreographer and model, plus performances by Break! The Urban Funk Spectacular, The Savoy Swingers, Sounds Of Afrika and the Send Judah First Step Team plus an Art Exhibit, “Ties That Bind: A Tapestry of Cultural Connections,” curated by Picture That, LLC, in both the Rosenthal Gallery (Rich Forum) and Sackler Gallery (Palace Theatre) as well as Cendant Mobility (Danbury), the New Canaan and Westport Libraries.
