TheatreworksUSA presents Corduroy a new children’s musical at the University of Connecticut’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts in Storrs. Part of the Jorgensen’s Fleet Children’s Series, Corduroy is a jazz-inspired musical based on Don Freeman’s popular children’s book by the same name. The production involves Corduroy, a lonely, neglected teddy bear, and Evelina Brown, the little girl who wants to adopt him when she finds him in a department store. Evelina’s mother won’t buy Corduroy because he is missing a button. While Corduroy searches the store for his button, Evelina searches for a way to bring her new friend home–before he is sent away forever.
