The 36th Annual Christmas Revels is a riotous celebration filled with traditional Scottish music, dance, and drama. This year there is a grand castle in Scotland filled with the festivities of the laird and his family; and a large clan of men, women, and children. The production opens with the clan gathering around an enormous fireplace, big enough for men to walk into. The clan is planning the Christmas festivities and the annual visit from the laird and his family.
Scottish Christmas traditions are rich with exquisitely heart-breaking songs, magnificent Highland dances, and the warm, soulful poetry of Robert Burns. The Scottish band includes pipers, tin whistles and penny whistles, fiddlers, and a Celtic harpist. The traditions of the Highlands include rhythmic working songs, glorious celebration songs, and delightful dancing tunes that keep your feet tapping. The story-teller delivers gut-splitting fables and the Mummer’s play is bound to make the audience guffaw.
