About This Show

The Bug Theatre New Playwrights Festival, now in its fourth year, fosters the development of new voices by giving staged readings to exemplary new works directed by some of the top talent in the region. From this year’s 190 submissions, a reading committee has selected 6 short plays:

Big Electric Superhero Hands by Johnna Adams, directed by John Ashton of the Avenue Theatre
Kissing Myself by Shayna Ferm, directed by Billie McBride
eleven short scenes by Kirk Lynn, directed by Bug Theatre Artistic Director Donna Morrison
The Ride by Greg Romero, directed by LIDA Project Artistic Director Brian Freeland
A Clear, Blue Thing by Caridad Svich, directed by Luanne Nunes de Char of Denver Center Academy
Women Behind the Bush by Ed Valentine, directed by Edith Weiss

All plays are 10-30 minutes and will be performed in staged reading format in one evening.
