The Savage Lily

About the Show

Wild Girl Theatre & Loudskirts Theatre Company present The Savage Lily, written by Kimberley Orton, as part of the SummerWorks Theatre Festival (Aug 7-17, 2003). Directed by Colin Viebrock.

The Savage Lily is inspired by true events and follows the story of a wild girl found in the forests of France in 1731 – a time of parlour science, great spectacle and fairground lectures – and how she is captured and forced into re-entering the constructs of “civilized” French society. The play poses some crucial questions about language, trust, human identity and history.

Friday, August 8 at 5:00pm; Saturday, August 9 at 9:30 pm; Sunday, August 10 at 2:00pm; Thursday, August 14 at 8:00pm; Saturday, August 16 at 11:00pm; Sunday, August 17 at 3:30pm.
