The Fantasticks

On the surface, it?s a seemingly simple variation on the Romeo and Juliet story. Or, as the narrator tells us, a story about “a boy, a girl, two fathers, and a wall.” But underneath, it?s a complex and sophisticated drama, played out using the most theatrical of techniques. Borrowing from Commedia dell’Arte and other forms, blended with music that is melodic, humorous, and on occasion, unabashedly sentimental, The Fantasticks belongs to all eras!
