About This Show

In George F. Walker’s Escape From Happiness, Nora’s family is under siege. Her son-in-law Junior has been beaten up by a pair of vicious crooks and now the police are searching her house and interrogating her. Her daughter, Mary-Ann, has abandoned her husband and child and appears to be having a nervous breakdown, while a man who may or may not be her husband continues to live in the room upstairs. The east-end neighbourhood is certainly not what it used to be. A long-awaited revival of Walker’s hilarious and touching 10-character comedy which received rave reviews as well as Chalmers and Dora awards for Best New Play in 1992.
