About the Show

A Renaissance Christmas includes an assortment of German carols, Spanish canciones, Flemish motets, and French noëls, all composed during the Renaissance period for the season of Advent and Christmas. The program features some of the most famous and beloved Christmas melodies from this period in Europe’s musical history, including such favourites as In dulci jubilo, Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, Quelle est cette odeur agréable, and Coventry Carol. The program also includes several works for solo organ performed by Mr. Komisaruk, including Mixolydian Toccata by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck.
