New York City
Winter, 1944: Against the backdrop of a world at war, Florence and her seventeen-year old daughter Rose share a working class home in Tennessee. Florence invites two young women working at the local munitions factory to room at the house, and soon the boarders’ dreams and expectations clash with those of their hosts. Secrets are revealed, and promises are both kept and broken, but as Christmas approaches the women are reminded that only in each other’s company can they ultimately find themselves. Wise Women, written by Ron Osborne, is a West Coast premiere.
