About the Show

42nd Street Moon, San Francisco’s acclaimed company dedicated to presenting “lost musicals,” gives American audiences its first look ever at The Cabaret Girl. Jerome Kern and P.G. Wodehouse took London’s West End by storm with this dizzy farce in 1922 where the show (and its star) proved so successful it ran for over a year. A typically merry Wodehouse concoction, The Cabaret Girl shows how far friendship can go with a late-night cabaret troupe impersonating nobility in an effort to win a society husband for their down-on-her-luck friend. Susan Himes Powers stars in the title role leading the spirited cast of 16.
