About This Show

The true story of an imaginative young six-year-old boy who loves wearing dresses and lip synching to Judy Garland. The year is 1970 and the boy soon finds himself in the office of Dr. Richard Green at the U.C.L.A. Neuro Psychiatric Ward. There he is tracked, tested, interviewed and treated for the next seven years. What the boy doesn’t know is that he is part of a government funded experiment with 62 other ‘sissyboys’ who are diagnosed with a new illness that Dr. Green calls Gender Identity Disorder in Children (GIDC). And THIS he discovers by accident many years later when he stumbles across a book called, ‘The Sissyboy Syndrome’ —by none other than Dr. GREEN!. This is the often Orwellian story of a closet drag queen’s fight to reclaim a dress, a diva, and his true sissy self. This solo comedy is written and performed by Bruce Bierman.
