Sunset Boulevard

Winner of seven Tony Awards in 1995 including Best Musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard comes to spectacular life on stage. Based on Billy Wilder’s classic 1950 film noir, legendary silent film star Norma Desmond, desperate for a return to glory, takes a fateful meeting with a struggling Hollywood screenwriter, leading to passion and ultimately, tragedy. This season marks Contra Costa Musical Theatre’s 50th anniversary, and this special production, an East Bay premiere, stars veteran actress Annmarie Martin as Desmond and CCMT favorite Robert Lopez as Joe Gillis, and features the well-known songs “With One Look” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.”
