The Two Gentlemen of Verona
Valentine and Proteus were best friends until Proteus followed Valentine to Milan and caught sight of his friend’s lady, Silvia. Gone is their friendship and forgotten is Proteus’ intended, the faithful Julia. Now, Proteus sets his sights on Silvia, even though she doesn’t care for him. William Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona is a comedy about headstrong young love, with adventure, surprising twists and engaging characters – including a resourceful heroine in disguise, an irreverent servant and one of the most famous supporting canines in theater history.
The Two Gentlemen of Verona is presented as part of the Old Globe’s Shakespeare Festival. It performs in nightly rotation with Hamlet and Measure for Measure.
