New York City
One of the most psychologically complex and intensely debated plays in literature, Hamlet follows the deliberations of a grieving son commanded to avenge his father’s murder. With some of the most beautiful poetry ever written, Shakespeare’s great tragedy has fascinated and enthralled audiences for nearly 400 years, but remains as relevant and urgent as ever.
Hamlet is presented as part of The Old Globe’s Shakespeare Festival. It is directed by the festival’s Artistic Director, Darko Tresnjak.
As part of the festival, Hamlet is performed in nightly rotation with The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Measure for Measure.
