About This Show

St. Petersburg Ballet Theater brings a cherished ballet tradition to The Center’s Segerstrom Hall with The Nutrcracker. With storybook sets and costumes, the production promises to be a highlight of The Center’s holiday season.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffman’s tale, The Nutcracker is the story of a young girl with a rich imagination who receives a wooden nutcracker from Drosselmeyer the toymaker on Christmas Eve. After an evening of stories and presents, marauding mice threaten her Christmas dream. The dashing Nutcracker Prince rescues her and takes her to a magical land. These performances feature the Pacific Symphony performing Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ageless score.

Prior to the December 12th and 13th performances, The Center offers Sugar Plum Parties from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm. Included with the price of admission to that performance, these include crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
