The Don Juan Project

About the Show

STAGEStheatre presents the latest world premiere play by Fullerton-based writer Joel Beers: The Don Juan Project. This new undertaking explores the same character of Don Juan that has been the source of some of the greatest literary undertakins in history, from Moliere and Mozart to George Bernard Shaw and Lord Byron. But in this version, Don Juan knows he’s a myth — and he’s tired of being one.

He has fled the land of myth and is now hiding on present-day Earth. The Tribunal of Myth-Makers assign his lovely wife Elvira — one of hundreds whom Don Juan has betrayed over the centuries — and his faithful servant, Sganaralle to find him. From bars, theaters and a poetry reading, to a rally to destroy an historic movie palace, the duo scour the city of Fullerton for Don Juan. But when they find him, they realize their mission has been a ruse and they now have to save Don Juan from both the tribunal, as well as himself.
