“Modrock” is a stage musical set in the vibrant, swinging London of 1965, a time when styles and cultures clashed, the British bands ruled the pop charts and all fashion trends emerged on Carnaby Street. It tells the story of star-crossed lovers from rival “Mod” and “Rocker” factions who are forced to choose between loyalties and their new found love. “ModRock” features 20 classic hits from the era including “We Gotta Get Out of this Place”, “For Your Love”, “Tired of Waiting”, “Don’t Let me Be Misunderstood”, “You’ve Got Your Troubles” “Dedicated Follower of Fashion”, “Bus Stop”, “I Can’t Explain”, “Time of the Season’, “Sunny Afternoon” and “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”. Sung and danced by a cast of 12 each song on the album is connected directly to the period as well as the story and informs the audience, shapes the characters and propels the action in a unique way. We meet the ‘face’ obsessed Mods and the tradition bound Rockers. Then unrequited and secret loves are exposed in a powerful Night Club confrontation. We experience painful remembrances, a dramatic showdown, and finally, an inspirational resolution when love conquers all.
