About This Show

Leslie Lewis Sword portrays ten different characters in depicting the remarkable, true story of Immaculee Ilibigiza, who survived the attempted genocide of the Tutsis by the Hutus following the assassination of the Rwandan president in 1994. A Hutu pastor risks his own life to conceal her in a tiny bathroom with several other women while bloodthirsty Hutu killers repeatedly search the parsonage in pursuit of Immaculee and the other women.

During an ordeal lasting 91 days, Jesus and the Virgin Mary appears to Ilibigiza. Sustained by her Christian faith, she escapes to a nearby French Army camp for refugees, and makes her way to a U.N. outpost. Her job interviewer there is the man who will become the love of her life. Ultimately, the man who butchered her family and stole her home is captured by the French, and she is permitted to confront the cruel murderer and thief. Will she exact revenge on the vicious criminal or will she, in the spirit of Jesus, extend him forgiveness? Which will she choose?
