Love Letters

The Art Attack Foundation presents, the husband and wife acting team of Perry Shields and Cindy Shields in A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters. All proceeds from this performance will go to the Foundation’s student scholarship fund.

Love Letters is performed as a staged reading sharing the funny, passionate, and at times, sad, tale about the overlapping lives and love of lifelong friends Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, spanning with their exchanged notes, cards and letters during 50 years. The story timeline starts in second grade and details summer vacations, college life and marriages, including children, happiness and heartache.

As poignant today as ever, the lovers are forever physically apart though spiritually connected as they share with each other life’s joys and struggles, ultimately learning that happiness is found in the relationships build over a lifetime.
