About This Show

Award-winning performer Lorna Luft ties personal memories of her mother Judy Garland with one of America’s most familiar songbooks in the multimedia production of Songs My Mother Taught Me. An evening of pure musical entertainment, the performance showcases Luft’s enormous vocal talent while celebrating Garland’s musical genius with such signature songs as “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “The Man that Got Away” and “Rock-A-Bye.” Technology lets Luft sing directly to and with her mother onstage, allowing duets such as “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love.”

The daughter of Garland and producer Sidney Luft, Lorna Luft made her professional debut on her mother’s landmark CBS television series The Judy Garland Show. Mother and daughter shared the stage once more in a summer concert tour highlighted by a month-long Broadway engagement at New York’s famed Palace Theater. The concert was recorded and released as Judy Garland At Home At The Palace: Opening Night.
An accomplished Broadway performer, Luft has starred in the Neil Simon/Burt Bacharach/Hal David hit Promises, Promises and productions of Extremeties and Snoopy. She won the Carbonell Award for her portrayal of Adelaide in the national and world tour productions of Guys and Dolls. Her extensive television credits include roles on McCloud, Murder She Wrote, Caroline In The City, The Nanny and a 22-episode featured role on Trapper John M.D. She’s been a featured performer in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Christmas at Rockefeller Center and has performed an electrifying duet with her sister, Liza Minnelli, on a The Tony Awards’ broadcast. She has headlined concerts in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including The Hollywood Bowl, Rainbow & Stars, Madison Square Garden and Prince Edward Theatre.
