Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter directs Ntozake Shange’s choreopoem For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, using (for the first time ever) hearing actresses simultaneously and in parallel with deaf actresses. Told with the use of American Sign Language, a cast of nameless women, known only by a color, interpret 20 vivid and powerful stories from Shange’s often gritty and controversial world.
