A Wilde Holiday is a group of fairy tales by Oscar Wilde and works by other authors. It is adapted and directed by Sabin Epstein, and has music by Laura Karpman. Some of the fairy tales included are “The Selfless Giant,” “The Happy Prince,” and “The Star Child.” These deeply felt and unique tales embrace the true spirit of the holiday season and offer a rare glimpse into the Wilde soul unknown to most. On December 17, A Noise Within will host “A Gay Romp.” The festivities begin at 6:15 pm with a proper Victorian Holiday “Evening Tea,” with a feast of savory spiced meats, puddings, biscuits, pies, fruits, exotic teas, and rum cider from “Some Like it Hot” catering. At 7:30 pm, there is a special performance of the play. Immediately following the performance, the evening will finish with a post-performance cocktail party at 9:00 pm, with dancing and holiday merriment throughout the theatre. A Noise Within will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds to Aids Project Los Angeles (APLA), one of the nation’s largest AIDS service organizations. “A Gay Romp” ticket is $75.Schedule
