Richard Nelson's production of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya opened at the Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College on September 16. Starring Jay O. Sanders in the title role, Uncle Vanya runs through October 14.

Nelson's production features a new translation devloped with renowned Russian literature translators Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky. Uncle Vanya premiered at San Diego's Old Globe earlier this year, and inaugurates the Hunter Theater Project, a new venture connecting professional theater productions with Hunter College's students and faculty.
