Directed by Emmy Award nominee Matthew Penn, the production plays in the Public's Anspacher Theater and officially opened on October 17. Following two extensions, Mother of the Maid will now run through December 23.

The complete cast features Glenn Close (Isabelle Arc), Dermot Crowley (Jacques Arc), Kelley Curran (Lady of the Court), Olivia Gilliatt (Monique), Andrew Hovelson (Pierre Arc, Guard), Daniel Pearce (Father Gilbert, Chamberlain, Scribe), and Grace Van Patten (Joan Arc).

Mother of the Maid "tells the story of Joan of Arc's mother (Close), a sensible, hardworking, God-fearing peasant woman whose faith is upended as she deals with the baffling journey of her odd and extraordinary daughter."

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Lap Chi Chu (lighting design), Alexander Sovronsky (original music and sound design), Joanna Lynne Staub (sound design), and Tom Watson (hair and wig design).
