Michael Cera, Tavi Gevinson, and Kieran Culkin Make Their Broadway Debuts Tonight in This Is Our Youth
Kenneth Lonergan's drama is directed by Anna D. Shapiro.
The Steppenwolf Theatre production of Kenneth Lonergan's This Is Our Youth officially kicks off its Broadway run tonight, September 11, at the Cort Theatre. Anna D. Shapiro's revival, which stars Kieran Culkin, Michael Cera, and Tavi Gevinson in their Broadway debuts, began performances on August 18.
Set in New York in 1982, This Is Our Youth follows three lost souls over the course of 48 hours. Cera plays Warren, a dejected 19-year-old who has just stolen $15,000 from his abusive father. Culkin plays his drug-dealing friend, Dennis, who helps him put the money to good use, and Gevinson takes on the role of Warren's love interest, Jessica.
The production features scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen, and music by Rostam Batmanglij.
