Based on the Truman Capote novella of the same name (and less so on the 1961 Audrey Hepburn film), Breakfast at Tiffany's stars HBO's Emilia Clarke in her Broadway debut. Clarke plays "it girl" Holly Golightly, the toast of New York café society circa 1943. The story is told from the perspective of Fred (Cory Michael Smith, also in his Broadway debut), a young writer from Louisiana, who might be in love with Holly…or he might just find her faaaabulous.
The two are joined on stage by a hefty cast including George Wendt (Elf), Eddie Korbich (A Christmas Story), Paolo Montalban (Pacific Overtures), Tony Award nominees Suzanne Bertish (Wit) and Lee Wilkof (Kiss Me, Kate), Murphy Guyer (Glengarry Glen Ross), Kate Cullen Roberts (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), John Rothman (Relatively Speaking), Danny Binstock (High School Musical), Tony Torn (The Forest), James Yaegashi (Take Me Out), Elisabeth Anthony Gray (Southern Discomfort), and Pedro Carmo (Pan Am).
The creative team for Breakfast at Tiffany's includes Derek McLane (scenic design), Colleen Atwood (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), Wendall K. Harrington (projection design), and Rob Milburn & Michael Bodeen (music and sound design). Tony Award nominee Sean Mathias (Indiscretions), who also helmed the 2009 West End adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's by Samuel Adamson, directs.
Breakfast at Tiffany's will become the second show to close before it was intended this season, following the musical Hands on a Hardbody, which closed on April 13.
