Anne Hathaway, Laura Linney, Lily Tomlin, and More Celebrate the Opening of Holland Taylor's Ann

Holland Taylor wrote and stars in Ann, the story of Texas Governor Anne Richards at the Vivian Beaumont.

Holland Taylor's Ann celebrated its opening night on Broadway this Thursday at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre. Benjamin Endsley Klein (The Coast of Utopia) directs Holland Taylor (Something Old, Something New) in the biographical play, which Taylor also wrote. Ann is described as a portrait of the acerbic late governor who had character the size of Texas.

The creative team includes scenic design by Michael Fagin, costume design by Julie Weiss, lighting design by Matthew Richards, sound design by Ken Huncovsky, projection design by Zachary Borovay, and wig design by Paul Huntley.

Guests included Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway and family, Tony Award winners Ben Vereen and Lily Tomlin, Elaine Stritch (A Little Night Music), Gloria Steinem, Judith Light (The Assembled Parties), Kathleen Turner (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), Laura Linney (Time Stands Still), Ron Raines (Follies) and more.
