Mariette Hartley to Perform Solo Show in California

Mariette Hartley will star in an autobiographical solo show titled If You Get to Bethlehem, You’ve Gone Too Far, January 6-February 26 at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California. Directed by Don Eitner, the show will open officially on January 21.

Based on her best-selling memoir, Breaking the Silence, Hartley’s show has the actress playing 11 different characters including her parents, her grandfather, the noted psychologist John B. Watson, and actresses Eva Le Gallienne and Dolores Hart. The creative team includes Elizabeth A. Cox (costume design), J. Kent Isay (lighting design), and Marc Perlman (sound design).

Hartley performed on Broadway in Cabaret. Her numerous other stage credits include Sylvia, Measure for Measure, The Miser, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, and Copenhagen. She has appeared in such films and television series as Ride the High Country, Peyton Place, and The Incredible Hunk Married for which she won an Emmy Award. Currently, she has the recurring role of attorney Lorna Scarry on Law & Order: SVU.
